This is a blog about life raising a chocolate labrador puppy. I have lived with 11 labradors in 43 years. I have raised two. Wallace is our new pup who joined us on January 2, 2014. He is precocious, toothy, stubborn, but utterly teachable.

While sometimes I will offer technical pieces about training a labrador for family life and for hunting ducks, this mostly be about the spectacular moments that occur in one’s life with a dog.

Wallace and his family live in Alexandria, Virginia and spend time at their property on the Northern Neck on the Rappahanock River.
